You've decided that you are going out with your boys tonight. There is this cool club where all the hot ladies go. You want to be noticed but are not sure what to wear. Don't worry The Pick Up Doctor will take care of you.
If you are not going to a serious event (look next paragraph) then you should shoot for a casual look. In that case you want to wear jeans. There are many different designers to choose from but don't worry not all of them will make you go broke. Some of good places to look for jeans are GAP, Calvin Kline, Timberland, Old Navy, Polo Jeans, J. Crew, Ralph Lauren. You want to get at least 2 pairs of jeans. They should be dark but not plain and no tight jeans 80's are over and they are not coming back, sorry.
If you going to more upscale place (expensive restaurant, country club, wedding, etc.) then you will have to wear dress pants, most likely khakis or a suit. You should have at least one pair of dark and one of light khakis in addition to a dark suit.
If you want to get noticed you will need to get at least few nice shirts. You want to get shirts in bright colors. The best choice would be white with some type of design. Also bright orange, bright green, bright blue, bright yellow (if you can pull it off) are a good choice. You should always wear an undershirt, such as white athletic shirt (wife beater), t-shirt, v-neck this will make you look better and it will save your shirts from sweat so that they will last you much longer. Most important thing, you should always take your shirts to the drycleaners. That way they will look great every time.
There are two types of shirts, casual shirts and dress shirts. Casual shirt is for wearing with jeans and usually should not be tucked in, and top button must be always open. If you are wearing a dress shirt which goes with khakis or a suit then top button stays open only if you are not wearing a tie or bowtie. Good places to look for shirts are GAP, Calvin Kline, Timberland, Old Navy, Polo Jeans, J. Crew, Ralph Lauren.
One or two nice pairs of shoes are a must. You should have a pair that goes with jeans as well as khakis, but those are really hard to find. Black shoes are the best because they can't get dirty (they are black) and they match almost any dark pants. You may want to look for shoes at Sketchers, Hush Puppies.
You want to get at least one nice watch. There are many different companies that make watches but don't worry. You need something that will match almost any outfit, and it doesn't have to cost 500 dollars. You can get a nice watch at Overstock they always have good bargains. Remember no electronic displays. Those are for kids and no woman will take you seriously. If you want a stylish but not extremely expensive watch check out Diesel, Seiko, Kenneth Cole.
If you wanted to go out without any cologne on you then stop and get your butt back in the house. Cologne is like your signature. Everyone creates their own scent. That means that if there are 10 guys wearing the same cologne they will still smell differently. So don't worry that you are wearing same cologne as the other guy. Most popular brands are Aqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani, Armani Black, Polo Sport, Bvlgari. Best place to spray the cologne on is your chest. Don't put it behind your ears or on your wrist, you are a man not a woman.
No white socks, with jeans or dress pants. Unless its Halloween and you are dressed as "Fonzie". Black socks will almost always work for you. Get the ones that are a little thicker that way you won't get any blisters.
You need a belt. They are not expensive, you should have at least one to go with your jeans and one for the dress pants. The belt for dress pants can be reversible (black on one side, brown on the other).
